In 2023, insurance claims resulting from hailstorm damage surged by 13 percent compared to previous years, reaching 1,126,459 claims, up from 988,543 in 2022. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, hail storms between 2020 and 2023 caused billions of dollars in damages nationwide. Notably, an outbreak of storms in June 2023 in Colorado, Texas, and Missouri led to over $2.5 billion worth of damage.
From January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023, over five million hail damage claims were processed. During this period, the top five states generating hail damage claims were Texas (851,922), Missouri (345,239), Kansas (272,897), Colorado (322,498), and Oklahoma (249,381).

After more than two decades of honorable service in the US Army, Travis Stearns has embraced retirement with gusto. His days are now a vibrant tapestry of family travels, martial arts training, and exhilarating snowboarding adventures. But that’s not all—Travis is also the principal instructor at the soon-to-be-launched Ding King Training Institute of Colorado, where he channels his expertise into shaping the next generation of automotive professionals. Join Travis on his journey as he continues to inspire and excel in every endeavor.
Stu – PDR Training Master Instructor
I’m Stewart Reynolds, a proud veteran who embarked on a remarkable journey with the United States Air Force in 1981. My dedication to duty led me to serve in various capacities within The Minuteman II and III Nuclear Weapons Systems, culminating in a fulfilling 38-year career. Throughout this extensive service, one of my most cherished roles was that of a Weapons System Master Instructor, where I held a Top
Secret security clearance, indicative of the trust placed in me.
My passion for teaching and mentoring, nurtured over the years, has seamlessly transitioned into my current role within the esteemed family at The Ding King. As a former student turned Instructor, I bring a wealth of experience, technical expertise, and leadership skills to the vibrant community here in California.
Beyond the classroom, I proudly manage my Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) business back in Butte, Montana, showcasing my enduring love for cars. The fusion of my military background, technical acumen, and leadership experience has garnered the trust of Todd Sudeck, the President of The Ding King.

I joined Ding King in 1998 and am Certified to instruct Paintless Dent Repair and ALL Ding King automotive appearance systems we offer. My experience ranges from performing services in the field for body shops and used car dealers, to running retail paintless dent repair shops. One of my greatest passions is teaching and have been Ding King ‘s Master Instructor for the past 20 years.
